RULES

OBJECT OF THE GAME
Destroy all enemy villages.

VILLAGES
Villages can be destroyed, then captured with the "e" key at a cost that may vary. Around 400 gold right now.  Capturing and building new villages defend themselves, allow for closer equipping/purchasing and also add to gaining more gold/second based on their tier level (discussed below).

VILLAGE TIERS
  • • There are three tiers, each players starts at their Tier 1, the closest to the middle of the map.
  • • Villages get higher in Tier the closer they are to the edge of the map.
  • • Higher Tiers have progressively better weapons available for purchase, better defenses and earn more gold/second.

WEAPONS
  • • Weapons are purchased at villages.  Different village tiers offer different/"better" weapons.  At a tier 3 village, all weapons are available for purchase and equip.
  • • Weapons have an initial cost, and a firing cost.  Weapons only need to be purchased once, after that they can be equipped at no cost.
  • • Strike weapons (meteor and aircraft carrier) are fired by holding down the left-mouse button and releasing at desired point of impact

DINO & DINO-DAMAGE/DEATH
  • • Your dino has unlimited lives, however upon death your dino will re-spawn at your nearest friendly village. Re-spawning will put you into an egg, and it will take a certain amount of time to hatch.
  • • After hatching, you must re-equip your weapons
  • • Damage is displayed as "dino-damage" or the skeleton being exposed.
  • • If your dino is alive, but all your villages are destroyed, you still lose.

SLOW ZONES
Finally, the slow zones, marked by the hash-marks in the mini-map, slow down your dino to about half speed.  Right now (at the time of this post) they are not enabled.  These can be seen on the game screen as big snow drifts.

Hum... The max weapons you can equip is 2?

If no, changing weapons with the scroll-whell would be better, IMO.

Well, now that I tested... Changing zoom with scroll is bugged, since it's also scrolling the page.

Yeah, that sucks...  Not sure what to do about it.  Worst case is we start using w for zoom in and s for zoom out, which wouldn't be so bad I think.

That's a good solution, at least for me, since I'm used to WASD commands and I always put my finger at W even though there isn't a command for W.

yea, good point, the middle finger needs a home somewhere!  W is where the home is!  I'm a little different I point it straight forward at wherever the mouse is.  It's kind of a stereoscopic mouse control thing i rigged up, it involves hampsters and dragonsbreath.

Would be nice to include zooming other places then the mousewheel as well. I often use the laptop without mouse when playing, so there is not any scroll. Anyways, scroll is kind of neat to zoom with though.

Ah, I thought taking over a enemy village was actually creating/rebuilding a village. Can you change the Kongregate instructions to be clearer? (This to be exact:)

Quote

Build Village:
Press E when near a village to build it. It costs 400 gold, so watch your spending!

Just thought I would say that I think the "W" "S" zooming control idea would work great! I kind of pretended to use them in a game, and it felt great! It would also be nice if the mouse controls could be kept as an option though, I actually like them.

yeah W and S are in, though zooming seems to get stuck sometimes... not sure why.  probably the autozoom manager locking it in place.

anyway, W and S work as well as the mousewheel, and I'll look into making the mousewheel work better, i think i'd have to twist some arms at kong, but it might be possible.
