People should be punished somehow when they disconnect after matching with a player who might beat them.

to be specific Gramps1138 and Synyster6661, its annoying because each time they disconnect me I fall into an error loop where all names are switched to error and a constant loop begins of going into battle and back to main screen can't do anything except refresh. I continuously match with these players and they disconnect on me, making it difficult to play.

Thanks for the report.  We know the issue you're talking about it, and we're working on a way to make that situation easier.  Let us know if you have any more comments or issues; we appreciate it. ^_^

for the record, we've implemented a penalty for the quitters. they are credited with a loss and their rating drops. No reward is given to the quitee for obvious farming reasons. Hopefully this will deter people from quitting so often in ranked.

But Aeiowu, what if the player's comp was just freaking out, and they had to leave the game to get it fixed somehow. Maybe they really had to leave? You can never tell if someone is just being a harrassment, or has got to go. Thus, I don't feel you should be punished for leaving a game.  I find it reasonable that there is no mone rewarding, but a loss? They need to goooo.

Having to leave the game is unfair to the other player, no matter what the reason is.  There's no feature to pause and save a game part-way through.  It would be too resource-intensive to do that.  So the best compromise we've come up with is to not award a win, but award a loss.

Maybe sometime in the future, we can have a "declare a draw" feature?  A player could propose a draw, and then if the other player agrees, the game is a draw.  But that would still make it up to the other player.  What do you think?
