Okay, so what I'm suggesting is simple. A SandBox mode (or Level Editor, according to torncanvas).

In this SandBox, you will be able to:

  • Spawn buildings (both you and enemies)
  • Have access to every weapon for free
  • Be able to change the backround
  • Be able to change your dinosaur graphic
  • Be able to edit the ground and spawn mountains

It wouldn't be all that simple, but could you elaborate on why you'd want this, maybe theres another way.  If we can get to what you want to see, or what you think is missing, we might have a better solution for all of us.

Well, I'm thinking of a big area where you can mess around with the game and basically do anything you want. (Almost anything)

I like this idea.  Thanks for the suggestion!  We'll see what we can do to support those kinds of features.

I think we should automatically have all the weapons and unlimited money in the first place in Practice Mode.  After all, it's no fun to wait around for the money to grow.

I agree. It should be for practice with weapons. It would also be cool to see AI in practice mode.

Unlimited money? It's PRACTICE mode, if there's some newbie who's new to the game, he practices around in practice mode with unlimited money, then freaks out and dies in battle mode. Plus, there's a solution to that "unlimited money", buy a cannon, go to the enemy castle, die, repeat, and then go to the third base and buy a meteor launcher, then bomb the enemy.

Note: I have yet to test this.

True, but it is boring waiting in practice mode if there is nothing you can do. Especially if you want to try out all the weapons for the first time.

Maybe there could be a "weapons" practice, which would focus on weapons, and a "game" practice, which would focus on the gameplay(more like a singleplayer mode). Although, that would complicate things.

Well for the weapons practice maybe a prehistoric shooting range?

Haha! Prehistoric shooting range! I like that idea! Maybe there could be a 2Play part to it, with you having a contest with your friend to see how much villages you can destroy in a set time limit.

We've been talking about having a couple different practice games, maybe one that just introduces you to the concepts of building a village and shooting, one that puts in an AI dino that you have to kill and then one thats just totally open with free monies and targets and stuff.

What kind of things would you guys like to see as far as training?  We could do stuff like a target range, or AI dinos, but we don't have much time to devote to scripting events or programming AI, so it's gotta be simple.

Targets would be nice, so you could get a feel for the trajectories of the weapons.

It would be nicer if the targets also fought back.. but that's AI again.

In the practice games you could have a much more detailed description of each weapon. (Strengths and weaknesses).

yea i agree about the descriptions, although those will likely be in the main menu.  But that won't be in until beta.
